Hogan’s, a popular restaurant at Telegraph and Maple roads in Bloomfield Township, is shutting its doors on Jan. 31, the Oakland Press reports.
Owner Rick Bochenek sold his site so it can be demolished for a strip mall. “It was time,” Bochenek tells The Oakland Press. “I got a great offer.”
Bochenek’s father worked there for a short time and bought the business in 1961, Carol Hopkins reports. In 1974, he turned it into a neighborhood bar and restaurant with the current name.
The restaurant posts on its website:
Hogan's Restaurant will be closing on January 31, 2016.
We want to thank all of our regular customers and others who have made Hogan's their choice for dining and drinking. If you have gift certificates please bring them in soon to take advantage of our great fresh fare before our doors close forever.
