Human remains of a retired Rochester pastor, who had gone missing for three years, were discovered over the weekend in Shelby Township, The Macomb Daily reports.
Sean Delaney and Paul Kampe report that a skull and other bones were discovered Saturday in a creek near 25 Mile Road and Dequindre Road by a passerby, according to officials.
George Vander Weit, 70, a retired pastor, disappeared July 5, 2013, the paper reports.
The paper reports that authorities don't suspect foul play and Rochester Police believe it may have been a suicide. Vander Weit had talked about suicide prior to leaving the home. The family says he left home with anxiety and sleep medication.
