Raulie Casteel
Psychiatrists know what's wrong with Raulie Casteel, say two lawyers for the 43-year-old accused of shooting at 24 people along I-96 in four counties last October.
Tammy Stables Battaglia of the Freep has the latest on this case:
"There's been a conclusion that he suffers from a mental disorder: delusional disorder," attorney Douglas Mullkoff said. "And there is an evaluation that's going on, and we're going to see where we go after we get a result from the forensic center."
Mullkoff and co-counsel Charles Groh spoke Friday outsoide Novi District Court, where Casteel was bound over to Oakland County Circuit Court on 60 counts, including assault with intent to murder.
He also has been charged with terrorism, based on 21 of the attacks in the other counties. Those charges were filed by the Michigan Attorney General's Office. . . .
Casteel is accused of shooting at 24 people, mostly motorists, on Oct. 16-18 and Oct. 27 in Oakland, Livingston, Shiawassee and Ingham counties.
He was examined at the Michigan Department of Community Health's Center for Forensic Psychiatry in Saline.
