Michael Symon

Some of the great burgers of Detroit have vanished.

Carl's Chop House served up a great one and so did Lindell AC. Both have closed.

But now Detroit may get a prize burger.

Crain's Detroit Business reports that Iron Chef  Michael Symon, who opened the high-end Roast restaurant in the Westin Book Cadillac in 2008, is planning to open his burger restaurant called B Spot in Detroit.

Crain's Nathan Skid reports that B Spot won the best burger in America distinction in 2010, 2011 and 2012 from the prestigious Sobe Wine and Food Festival.

Skid writes that Symon is searching for  a 4,000-square-foot location for the restaurant. He currently has six locations in Cleveland including in Dan Gilbert's Quicken Loans Arena. Symon won season one of The Next Iron Chef in 2008, earning him a permanent spot on the roster of esteemed Iron Chefs.

Both Crain's and Curbed Detroit have speculated that Symon's burger joint might end up in a Gilbert-owned building.

Here's some burgers on his menu:

Fat Doug burger with coleslaw, pastrami, Swiss, mustard 9.00; Porky burger with carolina style vinegar bbq pulled pork, coleslaw, cleveland bbq sauce, bacon 9.00; Lola burger with fried egg, bacon, pickled red onions, cheddar and mayo 9.50; Yo! burger with fried salami, coppa, hot peppers, provolone, shasha hot sauce 9.00.
