This one will get heated.
The Republican-controlled House Insurance Committee onThursday voted for legislation capping lifetime medical benefits for auto victims at $1 million and $250,000 for injured motorcycle riders, Detroit News reporter Chad Livengood reports.
The legislation will now go before the full House where it's expected to bump up against opposition from both Democrats and Republicans.
Livengood writes that critics say the legislation will bankrupt severely injured drivers, shift costs to taxpayers and deny the injured long-term care.
Gov. Rick Snyder supports the legislation.
