Could it be that Justin Verlander is losing some of his magic?
Or has he just had some bad breaks in a season, to date, that has left many a Tigers fans perplexed?
On Friday night, in what was considered extremely unusual, Verlander gave up three homers in six innings. His record is an unimpressive 8-5 -- at least unimpressive for an impressive guy of his stature, a guy who not long ago pitched a one hitter.

It doesn't happen often, but it happened Friday night in the Tigers' 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays: Verlander gave up three home runs — the third time he's allowed three in his career, to go with the one time in 2007 he gave up four.
