When it comes to justifiable homicides, Detroit is tops in the state and may be one of the tops in the nation, MLive reports.

Between 2000 and 2010, police across the state reported 212 justifiable homicides to the FBI, 117 by civilians and 95 police.
Many more are not reflected in the statistics because departments neglect to report them properly, an MLive investigation found, Still, Detroit - home to 7.2 percent of the state's population - accounted for 81 percent of those reported.
