No matter which way you turn, the issue of using art from the Detroit Institute of Art to help reduce the city's debt continues to surface.
The latest: Emergency manager Kevyn Orr on Thursday appeared at the Detroit Economic luncheon and said there might be ways other selling art to address the problem, according to Matt Helms of the Detroit Free Press.
Alternatives might include long-term leases of art the museum owns, the Freep reported.
The Freep writes:
While no plans are set in stone, Orr made it clear he has no choice but to consider ways to leverage the museum’s assets.
