So let's forget about the ferkakta (yiddish for b.s.) handshake.
Yes, the press continues to play up this Sunday's rematch between the Lions and the 49ers. And the HANDSHAKE!
You probably recall that Lions coach Jim Schwartz had a little hissy fit last year when he felt the 49er coach Jim Harbaugh brushed him off with a less than congenial handshake after the Lions lost 25-19.
According to the Detroit News, Schwartz said about the handshake: "The NFL is a very scrutinized thing. … But that's long in the past. It seems so long ago that it occurred. When the two teams take the field, that's not going to be on one player's mind."
Harbaugh echoed a similar sentiment, calling it "completely irrelevant."
