Lions owner Martha Firestone Ford, in New York this week for the NFL's fall meetings, apparently spoke to league officials about that painful incident during the Seattle game where the ball was batted out of the end zone, killing the Lions' chances for a victory.
Josh Katzenstein of the Detroit News reports that coach Jim Caldwell first mentioned the conversation during his weekly interview on 97.1 FM and said something about it Thursday during his news conference at team headquarters..
"I said, 'Don't think she's just sitting around not saying anything, OK?'" Caldwell said.
He declined to say anything specific about the conversation.
