Two Buffalo Wild Wings news events occurred Saturday -- one with MSU's football team on a bowl game field in Phoenix and one with those players on many of the 95 TVs at the globe's biggest branch of the restaurant chain.

The debut of a two-story B Dubbs in downtown Detroit's historic Temple of Odd Fellows Building on the corner of Randolph and Monroe drew an opening night crowd that included Sarah Cox of Detroit, editorial director of Curbed, a New York-based online real estate news network. She "covered" opening night in a colorful live-tweet stream. Excerpts:

Made an early New Years resolution to be a more stereotypical Michigander. Natch, this will begin with a trip to Buffalo Wild Wings.

Detroit Buffalo Wild Wings decor verdict: it's a Best Buy that serves food.

Live on the scene at B Dubbs: Women's restroom trashcan has empty bottle of Peppermint Schnapps, who knows what else???

B Dubbs menu offers great insight on life, dudes. Smiling or screaming [sauces and seasonings]. All else is just the mediocrity of the middle.

Things you can say to your B Dubbs waitress, but not anywhere else in public: I'll have more Asian Zing sauce, please.
