Restaurants around Michigan today are offering free meals to veterans and active military personnel to mark Veterans Day.
Team Schostak Family Restaurants, based in Livonia, will give free meals to veterans and active military personnel at its 67 Applebee’s, four Del Taco and two MOD Pizza locations, the company says in a press release.
In downtown Detroit, Republic Tavern will give a complimentary entree to active or former military members today,
Vets also can get in free today at the Detroit Institute of Arts’ “30 Americans” exhibit of contemporary African-American works and can visit the Detroit Zoo woth a guest without paying.

- Bob Evans is offering free all-you-can-eat hot cakes to veterans.
- Carraba's Italian Grill is offering a free appetizer of choice to all veterans and active service members from November 9 to 15.
- Chili's is offering vets and active servicemembers any lunch combo or dinner meal from a select menu for free. Dine-in only, beverages and gratuity not included.
- Cracker Barrel is offering veterans a free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca Cola Cake. Additionally, 10 percent of all proceeds from the sale of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cakes will go to the USO Transition 360 Alliance.
- Denny's invites all vets to build their own Grand Slam breakfast from 5 a.m. to noon.
- Friendly's is offering free breakfast, lunch and dinner for all vets. Dine-in only.
- Golden Corral's Military Appreciation Dinner is available for any veteran from 5-9 p.m.
- Hooters is offering free meals to veterans from a select menu all day with a drink purchase only.
- IHOP is offering free red, white and blue pancakes and combo plates to all vets from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Little Caesars is offering free pizza or $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Combo to all vets and active service members between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- LongHorn Steakhouse is offering a complimentary Texas Tonion and non-alcoholic beverage to all vets and active military service members.
- Olive Garden is giving all veterans a free entree, and offering all guests that dine with veterans 10 percent off their bill.
- Outback Steakhouse is offering a free Bloomin' Onion and a non-alcoholic beverage to all veterans, plus 15 percent off your full purchase from Nov. 12-Dec 31, 2015.
- Ponderosa Steakhouse is offering a free Veterans Day buffet at participating locations only.
- Red Lobster is giving vets a free appetizer or dessert from a select menu from Nov. 9-12.
- Red Robin locations nationwide are inviting all veterans enjoy a free Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on Nov. 11.
- Shoney's is offering a free All-American burger to vets and active service members. The chain also regularly offers 15 percent off for all military, fire, police or EMT workers. Dine-in only.
- Starbucks is offering a free tall coffee for veterans, active service members and their spouses at participating locations.
- Texas Roadhouse is offering free lunch plus sides and a drink from a select menu to all vets and active service members. Dine-in only, call ahead to check times.
- T.G.I. Friday's is offering free lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at participating locations. Dine-in only.
