The Superior Township resident, a software engineer in downtown Detroit, is Wahl Man of the Year for best mustache, beard or goatee.
Wahl, an Illinois-based maker of clippers and shavers, made the announcement Tuesday.
He competed against 10 men around the country for the promotional award. The public voted.
"Just as Detroit is in the middle of a big come back, facial hair too has grown in popularity," Heien says in a statement. "I think the city's influx of creative and hardworking people is the perfect environment for facial hair, and I'm proud to be a part of it."
He gets $1,500 and will be featured in a national ad.
He salutes his wife Rebekah in a tweet Wednesday morning:
None of this would have been possible without this beautiful woman next to me. @WahlGrooming #WednesdayWisdom #CoupleGoals #DetroitLooksLikeThis https://t.co/m4LAo97ImO
