A former international fugitive from Novi is heading to trial on three murder charges more than four years after three family members were slain, Ron Savage of Fox 2 News reports.

The reporter and his crew were at Metro Airport for the return from India of Lakshminivasa Nerusu, a 46-computer programmer, in the custody of a Novi detective and FBI agent, as shown in a three-minute news video.

He was arraigned Sunday on first-degree murder charges in the fatal beatings and stabbings of his wife, Jayalakshmi Nerusu, 14-year-old daughter and 12-year old son on Oct. 13, 2008.

Police believe he fled the country the following day. The family was discovered dead two weeks later inside their townhouse. . . .

The gruesome murder scene sickened even veteran investigators.
