The Magic Stick at 4120 Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit is being born again, so to speak, and is getting a new name.
Melody Baetens of the Detroit News reports that new Electronic dance music will replace billiards, rock and roll and other live music.
And the name will change to Populux.
The News writes:
Majestic Detroit owner Dave Zainea told The Detroit News earlier this year that he’s teamed up with longtime club owner and electronic dance music DJ Amir Daiza to renovate and rebrand the historic rock venue. Daiza used to own Clutch Cargo’s and currently owns EDM venue Elektricity, both in Pontiac.
Zainea said in January the Majestic complex would undergo a $300,000 renovation.
