Reselling sporting event tickets is an age old tradition. You'll see it at any sporting event around the country.

Well, some Lions fans say Detroit Police are unlawfully cracking down on that practice and they've filed a class action suit to fight back.

Tresa Baldas of the Detroit Free Press writes that the suit, filed by Detroit Lions ticket holders, allege that Detroit police are unlawfully ticketing resellers, even though a federal judge struck down the city's so-called anti-scalping law in 2006.

The Freep notes that state law says it's illegal to resell tickets for over face value, but not illegal for people in Detroit to sell for less than face value under the 2006 ruling.
