Update, Thursday, 2 p.m. -- Jenenne Whitfield shares a three-paragraph statement on the project's website. An excerpt:
The Detroit Arson Dept is working in conjunction with the US Dept of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. . . .
Our only concern at this point is the safety of residents. We are working in full cooperation to do everything we can to put an end to this madness.
Update: Thursday, 10:30 a.m. -- This was posted about an hour ago on the Heidelberg Project Facebook page:
This morning we are again thankful for the DFD, and thankful that the reach of this morning's blaze wasn't any greater.
A 6AM fire was set at the War House, which survived the House of Soul fire, burning it to the ground. This fire was MUCH too close to our neighbors. We're stepping up patrols tonight, statement coming soon.
Please help put an end to these fires. Our community is at risk, we need you now: http://igg.me/at/HPLegacy

This has become absurd. Mind-boggling. Downright ridiculous.
Another Heidelberg Project structure was set afire Thanksgiving morning -- the seventh suspected arson fire at the iconic site this year, Tammy Stables Battaglia of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Capt. Charles Simms of the Detroit Fire Department Arson Unit tells the Freep that the vacant home at Elba and Mt. Elliott, called “The War House,” was set ablaze at 5:37 a.m.
A a security guard spotted someone running, the p[aper says, but no one was caught.
On Nov. 12, the House of Soul building was destroyed by fire.
