Timmy Lynn Soto was sentenced Wednesday in Wayne County Circuit Court to 38 to 80 years for the second-degree murder of Detroit firefighter David Madrigal on the city's west side. He was also sentenced to an additional two years for felony firearm.
Soto, 32, along with Lynn S Nicole Oneill, 33, both of Detroit and Christian Rasnick, 19, of Trenton, were charged earlier this year in the slaying of Madrigal, who they had befriended. Authorities say that they robbed and killed Madrigal at his home. The cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
Rasnick pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is set to be sentenced Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. Oneill is charged with armed robbery, arson third degree, larceny from a building. She is scheduled to go to trial March 8.

David Madrigal
