If you enjoyted Nerd Nite's Detroit debut or missed it, Thursday brings chance No. 2.

Here's what it's about, from the nerds' own site:

Nerd Nite is a monthly social event where nerds of all disciplines talk about their passions while the audience drinks and learns along. Your mission objectives: Explore. Evolve.

The kickoff at Great Lakes Coffee on Woodward four weeks ago drew about 130 people, according to Liz Lamoste, one of the organizers and a third=year University of Michigan law student.

The sequal is at 7 p.m. Thursday in Tangent Gallery, also in Midtown at 715 E. Milwaukee.

There's a $5 cover charge. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for those with advance tickets (click here). Others can buy them at 6:30 or later at the door.

"We'll have a talk about Dr. Seuss and social media, a talk about human birth, and you'll just have to show up to find out the third," Lamoste says.

Since Nerd Nite started in Boston last decade, it has spread to more than four dozen cities, including Ann Arbor.
