Up to 10 Metro Detroit pizza joints will serve up slices Thursday at the Motor City Pizzafest at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.
Participating pizza shops include Hippies Pizza, Fired Up, You Wanna Pizza Me, Tania's Pizza, Detroit Style Pizza Company, Primo's Pizza of Royal Oak, Dolly's Pizza, Luigi & Pedro, and ROAK.
There will be all kinds of pizza including deep dish, thin crust, wood fire and gluten free.
Beer and wine will be sold and there will be music as well.
A panel of judges will also judge the competition. Judges will include news personalities from WXYZ, Fox 2 and WDIV.
Advance tickets for adults are $10 and $8 for children. Tickets are $2 more at the door.
A ticket entitles people to two slices.
The festival runs from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
