A spree of six Oakland stickups that began just before Christmas should be over, police believe. Jessica Schrader reports in Royal Oak Patch on a break:

Royal Oak Police confirmed the arrest of a man on Wednesday who is suspected in a string of bank robberies in Oakland County over the past several months. ...

Royal Oak Police Chief Corrigan O'Donohue said he believes the man in custody is the "serial bank robber."

He was nabbed by cops from that suburb and Southfield while fleeing an attempted robbery at TCF Bank on 12 Mile Road in Royal Oak.

Holdups that began Dec. 20 were at banks in Royal Oak, Madison Heights, Berkley and Birmingham. Police released the photo above after a Feb. 22 robbery at Citizen’s Bank on South Main Street in Royal Oak.
