Since the first day of spring is rarely spring-like, Opening Day at Comerica Park seems to be a better marker, signaling the start of better things to come -- like sunshine and warm weather.

Partying around Comerica Park began far earlier than Monday's 1:08 p.m. starting time. Some people came at least four hours before. Beer for breakfast? Why not.

Tailgaters were downing beers and mixed drinks and soft drinks and eating munchies. Ticket scalper were hustling. And things were pretty darn festive.

That being said, people were anxious to begin another Tigers season.

Play ball!

Fans got a good glimpse at all the construction work downtown including the M-1 Rail.

Too soon to declare who your favorite Tiger is?

Never too early to get wild on Opening Day?

Who doesn't want a free sample, particularly when it's a hot dog, even if it is 10 a.m.?

The partying started pretty early in the morning up there.

Some advertisers took to the beautiful blue skies. It was sunny in the early part of the morning, but by late morning it was overcast.
