Prosecutors called their last witness to the stand in Bob Bashara's murder trial Monday, nearly two months after jury selection started, Elisha Anderson reports in the Free Press.

Testimony in the high-profile case, which has included allegations of murder-for-hire plots, secret mistresses and a BDSM lifestyle is expected to wrap up later this week when the defense is through calling witnesses.

"We anticipate that we will call probably four, perhaps five, witnesses," said Michael McCarthy, one of Bashara's attorneys.

So far, jurors have heard from about six dozen witnesses during testimony spanning eight weeks.

Bashara, 56, is accused of directing his former handyman, Joseph Gentz, to kill his wife, Jane Bashara.
