The Detroit Red Wings battled with the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night in Montreal and lost 4-3 in overtime, but the one point was enough to clinch a playoff spot for the 24th season in a row.

The tie in regulation time, coupled by Boston's 4-2 loss to the Florida Panthers was enough for the Red Wings to see post-season play.

Fans were not only happy to see the Red Wings make it, but downtown businesses were as well, like the Anchor Bar, which benefits from the post-season play.

The Wings hustled but could keep Montreal at bay.

Some fans give the Wings little chance of going far in the playoffs.
