The Week is a New York-based news digest with a global perspective that has featured some of the best homes for sale in Detroit -- quite a switch from the usual ruins real estate that makes national publications.
Detroit News columnist Neal Rubin's writes that The Week's two-page "Best properties" section typically covers things like homes on harbors, castle homes, houses with pagodas or an editor's 's personal favorite lust object, homes with indoor athletic facilities. It was startling to open the June 15 issue and see "Homes in Detroit" — and that was the point.
"We all have these images of vast uninhabited tracts of land and falling-down houses," Falk says.
