It was a good year for Shakespeare in Detroit, a local, nonprofit theater company.

On Facebook, it posts:

One of our favorite moments this year was being featured on the cover and inside the pages of Southwest Airlines ' in-flight magazine, Southwest: The Magazine. Many thanks to all of the actors who participated. We'll feature some of the videos and photos of our site-specific work over the next 2 weeks, shot by the incredible Cris Crisman, as we say goodbye to this beautiful year and welcome 2016.

It also stages drama in cool places.

One of the Romeo and Juliet scenes played out this year by actors Luna Alexander and Ryan Ernst at American Coney Island in downtown Detroit (video below)

What's ahead?

We will open our 2016 season in March with "Julius Caesar" at WCCCD's Taylor campus. We are so excited to spread Shakespeare in Detroit's footprint in Michigan with our Downriver neighbors. Please, stay tuned to our website for more info and how you can buy tickets. There will be one exclusive performance of the production in Detroit. However,  the invite to this performance in the city will be by invite only to those who have joined our mailing list and those have supported our campaigns. Let's celebrate the Ides of March!

We hope to bring another free summer production to the city as well in the summer of 2016. That production will be "Merchant of Venice."

You can get on the email list here.
