If only scammers would only use their ingenuity to start legit businesses. Who knows, they could one day become part of the 1 percent.

That beings said, here's one of the latest scams: The Detroit News reports that Roseville Police warned residents Friday that someone is sending out a letter purporting to be from the state Department of Environmental Quality, and referencing the recent probe into whether Jimmy Hoffa was buried underneath a driveway in Roseville.

The News reports:

"The letter claims the recent investigation into purported human remains … was a ruse to mislead the media and the actual remains are located in the back yard of the senior that the letter was sent (to)," Roseville police warned Friday in an emailed bulletin. "The letter states that law enforcement is concerned for the safety and security of the homeowner and that they will soon be contacted to arrange a time for the dig to take place."

Police suspect whoever sent the letter wanted to get the seniors out of their homes so they could rob them.

Clever, but not that clever.
