It's probably time for Brighton 53rd District Judge Theresa Brennan to start really worrying.

The Michigan State Police executed search warrants Wednesday and seized Livingston County-owned computers from her courtroom and undisclosed items from her home, reports Lisa Roose-Church of the Livingston Daily.

A  state police spokeswoman said warrants are for an ongoing investigation, but declined to say more.

"Our one and only goal is to be a finder of fact and relay those facts to the Attorney General's office," the agency said in a statement.

In February, WXYZ reported that she is involved in a divorce proceeding with her estranged husband. The divorce came after she revealed she was having an affair with a state police lieutenant who was the lead investigator on a murder trial she oversaw. That raises some professional ethical questions

Brennan was appointed to the bench in 2005 by then-governor Jennifer Granholm.  She was elected in 2006 to a two year term and was elected to a six year term in 2008 and 2014.

She graduated from Cooley Law School in 1982  and got a BS in Political Science and Public Administration from Western Michigan University in 1979.
