Tiger Stadium site at Michigan and Trumbull.

The fabled corner of Michigan and Trumbull still has a special feel. You can raze the stadium but you can't take away the decades of memories.

Well, there's still hope of bringing the corner alive again with development.

Paul Beshouri of Curbed Detroit reports that  George Jackson, president of the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation (DEGC), said in a recent interview that there's a renewed effort to lure developers to the site.

Jackson says, according to Curbed:

"We're doing RFP (Request for Proposal) for mixed-use development that will include a field. And, you know, that's something that I've been saying for two or three years, if not longer actually...Corktown's a very hot community and they need housing and they need retail. And so, we want to do retail and housing and still have a play field for kids."
