The $6,000 pig sculpture has been dressed in pink for the Relay for Life and a Detroit Tigers baseball jersey and ball cap. It even wore a sign around its neck urging residents to support the recent police and fire millage.

But those are bittersweet memories now because Willie the Pig is gone.

Someone stole the red pig sculpture at Ford and Middlebelt roads, probably Friday. 

The red pig sculpture, Cochon Rouge by Sophie Marie, was on lease for two years through a special arrangement with the Garden City Downtown Development Authority and John Sauve, a Brighton art curator.
