The restaurant at Woodward and Nine Mile is accused of "inability to"
A well-known Ferndale restaurant, shut by the state for a month last fall for repeated health code breaches, is in the same jam again.
"Como's Restaurant is facing closure once again for multiple health code violations," posts independent journalist Crystal A. Proxmire, editor and publisher of The Oakland County Times. Her scoop about the business at Woodward Avenue and Nine Mile Road says:
On Aug. 22, Como's was officially informed that their license was revoked. They remain open pending an appeal.

The restaurant at Woodward and Nine Mile is accused of "inability to maintain compliance with food safety standards and practices."
Proxmire quotes the Oakland County Health Division notice:
"Inspections have continued to reveal a lack of active managerial control, which has been demonstrated by the facility’s inability to maintain compliance with food safety standards and practices."
The suburban journalist obtained four spring and summer inspection reports through a state Freedom of Information Act request. They show critical problems.
Como’s didn't return the news site's request for comment.
Last fall's shutdown from Sept. 15-Oct.15 came after 2013-16 inspections documented dangerous, recurring violations in a dozen categories. Some involved insects, mold, unsafe storage and employees smoking in food areas.
