Well, enough of the creative writing.
Joseph Corlett, 57, the student who was banned last year from Oakland University for a year after writing an essay about being hot for his teacher, is suing the school for $2.2 million for violating his rights to free speech, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Corlett, formerly of Orion Township, who now lives in Floriday, filed the lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
“In the end, he just ended up getting suspended from school for completing a homework assignment,” his Detroit lawyer, Alari Adams told the Detroit Free Press.
Corlett wrote the essay as part of a homework assignment in September 2011 for English 380.
