Temperatures are expected to reach the 90s again today, but as they say, it’s not so much the heat as the 55% humidity.
Well, no, a dry heat in the 90s is still hot. But it will be humid also, so expect a bad hair day.
If you’re looking for some way to beat the heat, Alex Avila and several Tiger wives will be at Campus Martius this afternoon scooping ice cream.
Detroit News: On the positive side, it will be an "ice cream action day" from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Campus Martius in Detroit on Wednesday to celebrate Hudsonville Ice Cream becoming the official ice cream of the Detroit Tigers.
The cherry on top of the free Hudsonville Summer Extravaganza will occur from noon until 1 p.m. when Tiger All Star catch Alex Avila, along with his wife Kristina and other Tiger wives, will scoop ice cream at the event.
The city also has set up cooling centers at Detroit libraries and recreation centers.
And as the Oakland Press reminds you, make sure your pets have plenty of water and don’t leave them in parked cars. Same rules apply to children, but that should go without saying. -- JTW
