August trial dates have been set for four males accused in the mob beating of Clinton Township motorist Steve Utash on April 2.

Bruce Wimbush Jr., 17, Latrez Cummings, 19, James Davis, 24 and Wonzey Saffold, 30, were arraigned Monday before Wayne County Circuit Judge James A. Callahan on charges of assault with intent to commit murder, Tony Briscoe of the Detroit News reports. 

A trial date of Aug. 25 was set for  Wimbush and Davis. Cummings and Saffold will be tried Aug. 18, the News reported. 

The Utash family has raised more than $184,000 in funds for medical costs. 

The case continues to generate national attention.  Over the weekend, Fox 2's Charlie LeDuff wrote about it in the New York Times.
