Few really expected the Detroit Lions to win. And they didn't disappoint.
Hardly looking like a playoff team, the Lions bowed to the Seattle Seahawks 26-6 on Saturday night in the Wild Card contest on the west coast.
The Seahawks played well. The Lions, overall, did not, failing to score one touchdown and failing to stop the Seahawks' run.
The Lions kicked two field goals. Period.
It was the fourth loss in a row by a team that comes home as losers, ending on a low point.
Now that Coach Jim Caldwell is returning next year, the only question left this season is: Why does team owner Martha Firestone Ford wear sunglasses during games?
Here's a Detroit News sportswriter's view near the game's end:
Lions are guilty of playing to their capacity. We're going to get whipped. Because they were a fringe playoff team. But very nice season.

Many fans harbored realistic expectations before the game.
"They will do what they do best for the last 60 years LOSE!!" Deadline Detroit reader George Paterni posted on Facebook.
"I predict I'll be watching Netflix," wrote Randy Mavis.
