Detroit police arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with the murder of a taxi driver whose body was discovered Saturday morning.

The 42-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was driving a Checker cab. He was at least the fourth taxi driver to die while working since September.

Members of the homicide section and Eastern District Special Operations made the arrest hours after the driver's body was found in the street, next to his taxi at 6:45 a.m. in the 20500 block of Gouldburn, near East 8 Mile and Grosebeck.

A police spokesperson said the suspect was taken into custody on the east side at approximately 5:30 p.m. without incident.
