A teenager could face charges in the accidental shooting of his friend involving an AK-47 in Brighton Township over the weekend, WXYZ News reports.
The two teens were at the Livingston Conservation & Sports Association and one of the teens tried to unjam the weapon.
The AK-47 accidentally fired, shooting Charlie Kimball in the head.
"He was funny, he was warm, he was compassionate," Vickie Smith, program manager for Connection Youth Services, told WXYZ. Kimball was a foster child.
"I'm sad and I'm angry," said Smith. "I don't know why anybody has to have an assault weapon unless they're in Afghanistan." -- A.L.
