Scott Moloney, owner of the popular ice cream shop Treat Dreams, on Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, keeps coming up with sweet entrepreneurial dreams that seem be pay off.
Vickie Elmer writes in Crain's Detroit Business:
Moloney, 47, has plenty to think about: His Treat Dreams company is about to launch a line of frozen fruit pops and now is part-owner of a barbecue-ice cream venture in Clawson. He bought the brand Jacques’ Tacos, one of the early local food trucks, and is developing a holding company called Fire & Ice Hospitality Group.
His new Midtown Detroit Treat Dreams location is already profitable, yet he knows it would benefit from coffee drinks, including a few made with ice cream. And he expects to open two more Treat Dreams locations in 2016 from a target list of a half-dozen local cities.
“He’s really thriving. I know he’s got a million things going on right now. …. He likes to challenge himself,” St. Peter, whose French macarons are sold in Treat Dreams’ Cass Avenue store in Detroit, tells Crain's.
