Plenty of restaurants opened in Metro Detroit in 2016, including La Rondinella on Russell Street in Eastern Market and Flowers of Vietnam on W. Vernor in southwest Detroit.
Unfortunately, there were closings as well.

Peabody's on Woodward Avenue in Birmingham
Moo Cluck Moo in Dearborn Heights and Canton. It plans to operate as a food truck.
Bagger Dave's, a Berkley-based chain, closed its downtown Detroit and seven other locations
St. Cece's on Trumbull Avenue in Corktown
El Zocalo on Bagley Avenue in Southwest Detroit
