Some of the Tigers stars have taken care of the money thing so they can play ball.

Lynn Henning of the Detroit News reports that pitcher David Price signed a record-setting payday on Friday of $19.75 million for a year. It's the highest salary for an arbitration-eligible player in the majors.

Price made $14 million last season.

The Tigers also signed outfielder J.D. Martinez, who blossomed as a star last year. He settled for $3 million for one year.

The Tigers also signed pitcher Alfredo Simon, the newest member of the rotation, for $5.5 million. He made $1.5 million last year with the Reds.
