Detroit firefighters on Saturday morning found two bodies at Lakeview Street and Forrest Avenue.
Authorities believe the discovery could be linked to an Amber Alert hours earlier for a missing 4-year-old girl, Steve Neavling of Motor City Muckraker reports. The other body may be the mother.
Firefighters responded to the house fire at 4:14 a.m. and found the bodies, Motor City Muckraker reports.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig said the bodies may be that of 4-year-old Savannah Walker and her mother, 39-year-old Heidi Walker, Neavling reports.
Authorities have called Marcus Hightower, 33, a "person of interest " in the suspected kidnapping of Savannah, Muckraker reports. He was released from prison in September 2014 after serving time for assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and was believed to have been in a relationship with the mother.
