At least two people have reported seeing a cougar recently near Kensington Metropark in Milford, the Oakland Press reports.
Experts say it’s improbable — though not impossible — for a cougar to be in the area.
Michael Pucker, interpretive naturalist at the park, said he heard about the cougar from someone at nearby Holden’s Party Store.
“(One man) said he was out mowing at 6 a.m. and he saw it,” Pucker told the paper's Dave Phillips.
“He said it was clear as day.”
Pucker said it seemed as though the man knew what he was talking about.
“Based on the description I heard, it sure sounds like they knew what a cougar looks like. They described it correctly.”
Pucker said the animal is likely an escaped pet.
