U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is in town today to see if local leaders have made any significant progress toward a governing structure and operating plan for the M1 rail project. It they have, the Feds will pony up some money for the project. If they haven't, you can expect to see LaHood returning to Detroit in 4-6 weeks. -- JTW
