Of course Red Wings playoff tickets are on sale. This is Hockeytown, after all.

Helen St. James sets the tone in the Free Press:

Spring arrives, and the Red Wings leap into the playoffs.

So it has been since 1991, and so it is again this year. The Wings secured the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 3-0 victory Saturday night against the Stars.

The Wings will play the second-seeded Ducks in a first-round series expected to begin Tuesday and continue Thursday at Anaheim.

The Wings already make history by earning 22 straight playoff spots -- the longest active streak of any pro team, St. James notes. She quotes Jimmy Howard on that achievement:

“The streak means a lot to all of us. It just says how high the bar was set before us.”

Howard made 17 saves in Dallas on Saturday night for his third shutout in seven games, the Free Press sportswriter adds.

The Wings hadn’t won four straight games all season before pulling it off in the final week.
