Metro Detroit can always use another good vegetarian restaurant. Some of the more notable ones include Seva in Detroit, Inn Season Cafe in Royal Oak and Detroit Vegan Soul in Detroit.
Now, Eater Detroit reports that the Om Cafe on Woodward in Ferndale, that had closed at the end of September, is re-opening under new management.
Eater writes that Om Café manager Jessica Norwood and another partner have reached a tentative agreement with owner Jason Thibodeau for the sale of the restaurant.
Norwood posted this on Facebook, according to Eater:
We will still operate under the OM name for a bit, but will eventually have a new name. The menu will stay very similar to what it is now, but some things will be added, and some removed.
We are SO EXCITED to continue on this path, and couldn't wait to share the news! For those that are not aware, I have been managing the OM for a few years now, and have been a loyal customer since I was a little girl. We will have the same Chef as we do now, wonderful Chef Madu, and we are so happy to continue to provide delicious vegetarian cuisine to the community.
The restaurant, now closed, will return with limited hours beginning Thursday, October 9, followed by a "re-grand opening" in early November.
