Video: Detroit 2-Year-Old Shoots Himself with Dad's Gun Lying Under Couch

The NRA is fond of saying "guns don't kill, people do." Well, some rightly argue that people kill with guns, and in this case a two-year-old boy almost killed himself with his dad's gun.

The child is hospitalized after shooting himself Monday with his father's  9 mm gun, which was unsecured under a couch in the home in the 12000 block of Laing on Detroit's east side, WXYZ's Brian Abel reports. 

The bullet entered the child's buttocks and went through his stomach. He's in stable condition at St. John Hospital. 

The parents, who have not been charged, are cooperating with police. The father has a concealed pistol license.
