Actor Jeff Daniels made quite an entrance Friday night on the CBS Late Show With Stephen Colbert, then got into some fun with the host over his home state of Michigan.

First off, Daniels walks on stage and plants a kiss on Colbert's lips, picking up on recent appearances by Sally Fields and other women who delivered passionate kisses to Colbert.

During the interview, Colbert mentions that Daniels doesn't live in New York or Hollywood like a lot of fellow actors and instead lives "where you grew up."

"For 30 years I've lived in a little town called Chelsea, Michigan," Daniels says.

Colbert replies: "I think Michigan is beautiful. I was actually there this summer in a little town called Monroe, Michigan. And I guest-hosted a local cable access show for one night there called 'Only in Monroe.' "

"Did you catch that by any chance?" Colbert asks Daniels.

No," he replies. "I believe it only airs only in Monroe."

Colbert mentions that he interviewed a local named Marshall Mathers (aka Eminem). He said he and Eminem talked on the show about Monroe events.

Daniels says that Chelsea could use something like that.

Magically, the two then put on a skit, pretending to host a local cable show where they read actual upcoming activities around Chelsea.
