The Formula D Pro Am Drifting circuit hosted "Drifting The D" on Saturday on a quarter-mile stretch of road at the decaying Michigan Central Station. It was the first 'Streets of Detroit' Midwest Drift Union" event to be held.
Wikipedia describes drifting as "a driving technique where the driver intentionally or unintentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels or all tires, while maintaining control from entry to exit of a corner."
The event on this YouTube video was shot by Harry Arnold, a videographer who operates iTVDetroit, a Detroit-based company that specializes in aerial photography with radio-controlled, camera-equipped vehicles, commonly known as drones. Some of its other airbone videos, including two fires, are here.
