By now, the Flint water crisis has grabbed the attention of some pretty high profile people including Flint-native Michael Moore and pop star Cher. The White House said it is even keeping a close eye on the matter.

That wasn't always the case.

But thanks to some key people, including investigative reporter Curt Guyette, the crisis finally gets deserved attention.

Guyette, a former investigative reporter for the Metro Times, is a reporter for the Michigan Chapter of ACLU and publishes his works on the ACLU's Michigan Democracy Watch Blog and other local publications. (We posted this early one about Flint last July.)

Guyette kept writing about the issue when no one else was, and kept raising questions about claims by the state that the water was Ok to drink.  It was not, and a result, hundreds people in Flint, if not more, may have to deal with health issues from the lead for the remainder of their lives.

Guyette appeared last week on the Rachel Maddow Show. In case, you missed it, here's the video.
