As part of its live, 40-hour marathon show to celebrate its 40th anniversary, "Good Morning America" broadcasted live from Detroit on Tuesday evening.
While cameras rolled, GMA correspondent Nick Witt stepped out of a tour bus at Campus Martius in downtown Detroit to the backdrop of a cheering crowd, and said in his charming English accent that they were giving out 250 Laf-fah-yette Coney Island hot dogs "to the great people of Detroit."
Front and center on the TV shot was one of Lafayette Coney Island's better known waiters, Faisal R. Ali, who was wearing his Lafayette Coney Island T-shirt.
Not bad publicity.
After that, Witt interviewed, J.J. Storm, a University of Michigan student, the Tigers bat boy for the past five years.
Witt asked Storm if it was "directly or indirectly" his fault that the Tigers didn't make the playoffs. "No comment," he said, then quickly adding that it wasn't his fault.
